The owl-looking thing at the top of the picture below is helping keep squirrels away. This area is where our tulips bloomed so beautifully this spring and then the squirrels feasted on the bulbs below. This device is motion-activated, runs on solar power, emits sounds at disagreeable frequencies, and flashes lights of multiple colors. We can't say it's 100% effective, but as long as we periodically move it, most animals stay away.
