When I was growing up (some say that process continues, but I refer to my childhood) my mother made montauks, a delight I cherish to this day. I have no clue why she called them montauks and if Google can't find the reason, I guess it will stay a mystery.

Each montauk consists of (from the bottom to the top)

  • A slice of buttered bread
  • Covered with slices of Velveeta cheese
  • Two slices of tomato
  • Three slices of bacon, partially fried

Put them under the broiler for a few minutes.
