The Monon Bike Trail runs from Carmel, Indiana (a few miles north of downtown Indianapolis) to Sheridan, including the stretch seen below which is in the Broad Ripple area facing north and runs through trees and across bridges. Walk south from here and a series of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars line the pavement. This is one of the busiest bikeways I've ever walked on with bikers, runners, and walkers all sharing the road. More information can be had at the link below.
