Balsamic Reduction

Horseradish is my usual go-to for topping a steak, but for something different, I prepared a balsamic reduction, simmering balsamic vinegar, shallots, garlic, honey, rosemary, and a bay leaf per the instructions at the link below.  The recipe calls for thyme, but we didn't have any, and our potted rosemary plant had plenty of fresh shoots and it substituted well.  It was great on steak, but would probably work as a salad dressing.  Tasty stuff.
