Like all the other boxwoods in the neighborhood, ours have been destroyed by a blight that quickly killed the bushes. With the recent nice weather, I figured I'd get a jump on removing them instead of waiting for spring and having to see their sad, brown carcasses all winter. I pulled out my handy reciprocating saw and my new badass Milwaukee Wrecker blade and cut them off at the base, which only took a couple of minutes per bush. I'll wait for some wetter weather before shoveling out the roots.
