The plant in the foreground with its single flower in the picture below is a peace lily. Under the careful watch of Arborist Elaine (another of Chef Elaine's skills), it has flourished in our dining room along with several other plants. The peace lily is a tropical plant and can only be grown indoors at our latitude. The single flower is a testament to the care it gets, as getting a single bloom is fairly unusual as you can read about in the link below along with many other details.
