Print > PDF > Email

If your business system does not support emailing reports, you may be printing them to a PDF file using a utility like the free (I love free) CutePDF, then starting a new email and attaching that saved file. PDFCreator (also lovingly free) streamlines this process by adding a direct E-Mail option.  You can configure a profile to automatically save the file and create a new email with that file already attached.

Loud shout out to Leslee for finding this gem.

Tasty

I only have a few "non-person" Facebook pages that I follow, but Tasty is often the inspiration for trying new recipes.  I just love how the video shows the entire preparation in super-speed.

Track My Bags

A handy feature in the Delta smartphone app is Track My Bags.  While I really don't want to ever have to use it, I hope it will provide insight into where my lost bag has traveled without me.

Using Amazon Locker

I used a recent purchase of a dual USB car charger led me to try Amazon Locker for the first time. When it was delivered to the locker at the nearby Speedway gas station, I received an email with a 6-digit code, which I entered on the locker's touchscreen keypad.  Then a door popped open to reveal my package.

Fish Tacos with Tomatillo Sauce

This is one tasty taco.  It combines roasted garlic, tomatillos (yes, that's a real thing) and jalapeƱo peppers with cilantro, red cabbage and other ingredients to smother tilapia fillets on a toasty tortilla (I prefer the flour variety).  Prepares in about a half an hour, making it suitable for a mid-work-week feast.

Haley's Corker

I bought four of these wine bottle aerator/filter/pourer/re-corker/stopper gadgets on my recent California trip.  Most of the wineries were using these in their pouring rooms and I figured they must know what works well.  I particularly like the aerator function, which gets some oxygen into the wine as it's poured, helping it to open up quicker.

Photo Collage

Lots of options exist, both online and with downloaded software, to make a collage from a group of photos.  The picture below was made using Google Photo's, which is convenient since I stored all my vacation pictures there, but lacks anything in the way of features.  An online option to try is PhotoCollage, which seems easy to use and is free (I love free).

Cinema 3D

3D movies with no goofy glasses?

MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab and Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science have teamed up to create a prototype display that makes this dream come true.  Prototype means you may never this in your local theater, but at least now there's hope.

Google Tango

GPS is great, well at least great when you're outside.  Tango is a technology that allows your smartphone to know its position inside buildings and bring location-sensitive, 3D apps to life.  I'll have to keep close track of this for my next smartphone purchase.

Red, White, and Blueberry Grilled Chicken

The blueberry reduction sauce in this chicken recipe could be used for numerous purposes, perhaps as a topping for some yummy grilled bread cheese.  If you're looking for a tasty dish this Labor Day weekend or just to celebrate the end of summer, you need look no further.
