The hot afternoon on Hilton Head Island, SC, last month was the perfect time to have the Blood Orange Tom Collins shown below. It's a simple concoction of 2 oz blood orange gin, 1 oz lemon juice, and 3/4 oz simple syrup that's shaken with ice and topped with club soda. The venue was the Hilton Head Distillery found on the northeast side of the island. Tours are available for those interested, but give me a bar seat and a bartender and I'm a happy guy.
