Renewing your passport is a little more convenient now that you can do it online if you can meet the requirements. Among those are the passport you are renewing is or was valid for 10 years, and you are age 25 or older, you are not changing your name, gender, date of birth, or place of birth and you will not need your passport for at least six weeks (your current passport is canceled immediately). You will need a new photo of yourself, and you'll need a friend, as no selfies are allowed.
